Logo design and identity work for VU’Z Residence in Byblos Lebanon
VU’Z, being in part, a dorm for the neighbouring University, and part hotel, wanted a modern identity that would also convey the high quality of services offered by the residence. Its strength was the location. Situated on a hill overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, Every room had a beautiful view of the coastal city.
Our approach
Byblos is an ancient Phoenician city, so we picked “Urjuwan” (Purple), for the corporate identity. Urjuwan originated in ancient history from the coastal cities of Tyre and Sidon in Lebanon. The logo is a simple geometric thin monotype font inside a purple square, the “Purple Window” that opening to a stunning view. The window idea came to life on their business cards. We had a die-cut around the logo allowing the window to open to any view.
